Basilica of Saints John and Paul, Venice

The Basilica di San Giovanni e Paolo, also known as San Zanipolo, is a church in the district of Castello in Venice, Italy.

The huge brick edifice was designed in the Italian Gothic style, and completed in 1430.

After the 15th century the funeral services of all of Venice's doges were held here, and twenty-five doges are buried in the church.
The vast interior is well worth a visit. Don't miss the  'Madonna della Pace', a beautiful  Byzantine statue  in its own chapel  and the church's chief relic, one of Saint Catherine of Siena's feet.
