Parc Jean-Baptiste Lebas, Lille

An oak-lined urban park with large lawns, flowerbeds and play areas which is just metres from the Porte de Paris.

Opened in June 2006, the Jean-Baptiste Lebas Park, which occupies a space once used for illegal parking and marred by 11 lanes of traffic, is surrounded by the boulevard of the same name. The urban aspect of the park is emphasised by the addition of a unique red fence which integrates seating, pivoting gates and information panels.

The park is known for its impressive botany, including large chestnut trees, rose gardens, and well manicured flower beds scattered across the garden. There are also children’s play areas, boules and petanque greens and trails for walking and cycling. Its proximity to the Porte de Paris affords an unrivalled perspective of the triumphal arch.
