Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow

Moscow Museum of Modern Art is a great place to enjoy some important Russian contemporary art.

Located in the heart of Moscow, this museum is easy to reach if your stay in the city is based mainly around the center. The MMOMA was opened in 1999 thanks to the donation of Zurab Tsereteli, an artist, collector and director of the Academy of Art.

There are several buildings in central Moscow that all belong to the Moscow Museum of Modern Art (7 in total), however, the most important is located on Petrovka Street. You can also buy a special ticket, which allows you to visit all the buildings.

If you get hungry during your visit, there is a nice café right inside the museum. Alternatively, famous restaurants such as Bolshoi or Brasserie Most are very close as well.
