Gothenberg City Museum, Gothenburg

Once the headquarters of the Swedish East India Company, the City Museum charts Gothenburg’s enterprising and exploratory past, present and future.

12,000 brilliantly curated years of history and culture examine everything from the prehistoric era, through Sweden’s famous Viking heritage and the middle ages, right up to the exciting dynamism of the 19th century.

Temporary exhibitions on more contemporary topics are always coming and going, with past ones discussing performing arts in the late 20th century and the history of advertising.
