Spain Square, Seville

Take a walk through one of the most spectacular squares in Seville: the Spain Square.

The Spain Square (Plaza de España) is one of the most spectacular squares in the city of Seville, to the north-east of the María Luisa Park. It is bordered to the west by the Avenida de Isabel la Católica. Construction began in 1914 by the architect Aníbal González for the Ibero-American Exhibition in 1929. It was the most expensive construction of the exhibition. A thousand men took part in it and it was completed in 1928. It is the largest building of all those built in the city during the 20th-century.
