Slottsskogen, Gothenburg

Gothenburg's most popular park, covering 137 hectares and full of things to do.

Gothenburg’s biggest park dates back to the 17th century when the land was used for pasture until the expansion of the city necessitated more space for recreation in the 1800s.

Drawing inspiration from London’s Hyde Park and Stockholm’s Skansen, Slottsskogen sports ample additional attractions including playgrounds, mini golf, volleyball courts, cafés, the occasional concert, and a zoo with native Nordic animals, as well as a few penguins for good measure.
