Keillers Park - Ramberget, Gothenburg

A pleasant park with shady walking trails and panoramic views over the city.

Scotsman Alexander Keiller came to Gothenburg in 1825 and 16 years later founded the shipbuilding group Götaverken.

Falling on tough times, his son James sold the business after the turn of the century and donated the area around Ramberget to the city, stipulating that the land must be used as a public park.

Today it’s still a popular spot: a gentle crease poking above Gothenburg’s skyline.

At 87 metres above sea level, you can sometimes see as far as 20km out into the North Sea, as far as the island of Vinga.
