A large medieval castle that the kings of Naples built and called home.
Built in 1279 by Charles I of Anjou, this huge medieval castle has a cracking view over the port of Naples.
During the 13th to 15th-centuries, it was home to the Kings of Naples. Today you can stroll under the 35-metre high marble triumphal arch which was added to the entrance in 1470, and through the ornately decorated Bronze Gates into the large courtyard.
Don’t miss the glass-floor revealing ancient Roman ruins and medieval burials in the Armoury Hall.
