Nobel Museum, Stockholm

A grand museum right in the middle of Stockholm dedicated to Alfred Nobel and his legacy of the Nobel Prize.

There is perhaps no award more coveted in the fields of science, literature or diplomacy than a Nobel Prize, made possible thanks to the generosity of the Swedish scientist and inventor, Alfred Nobel.

Inside the grand former Stock Exchange Building on the northern side of Stockholm’s very heart, the picture-postcard colourful Stortorget square, the Nobel Museum features exhibitions dedicated to those who have made the most remarkable contributions to humanity.

Opened in 2001 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize, the museum has one permanent exhibition entitled “Cultures of Creativity” and numerous temporary thematic exhibitions throughout the year.

The Nobel Museum also puts on a wide range of public events including mini lectures on varied topics at weekends, the occasional more high-profile talk, and if you’re feeling less highbrow, pub evenings on Fridays.
