House for an Art Lover, Glasgow

Built between 1989 and 1996 in Bellahouston Park today the House for an Art Lover is a lively venue for art exhibitions and events.

The house is a striking example of art nouveau architecture, originally designed by the renowned architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh in 1901. This included the double-height entrance hall, oval room, music room and main staircase that you can see today, but it wasn’t actually built until the late 20th-century, closely following Mackintosh’s original designs.
