Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Bradford

Built on the former site of Manningham Hall, the gallery opened in 1904 in Lister Park.

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery is one of the UK's leading regional art galleries. Located in picturesque Lister Park, the civic art gallery has permanent art collections. In addition, the gallery hosts a number of in-house temporary exhibitions and touring exhibitions in collaboration with partners such as the National Portrait Gallery, the V&A Museum of Childhood, the British Museum in London and many other national and international venues. The Art Gallery is one of four sites and is run by the City Council. It relies heavily on private donations, corporate sponsorship, foundation grants, admission fees and the support of our benefactors, donors and friends.

Cartwright Hall is Bradford's civic art gallery and offers an exciting programme of contemporary exhibitions, with four permanent galleries. The collections consist mainly of 19th and 20th century British art, with strong collections of international contemporary prints and contemporary South Asian Art like Islamic calligraphy, and items of Sikh art.
