Exhibition which commemorates the work of famous Spanish composer Enrique Granados (1867-1916), 100 years after his death.
Enrique Granados was a Spanish pianist and composer known for his modern and innovative work, whose unique Spanish style came to represent Spanish nationalism. The exhibition explores the composer’s European inspirations and is divided into seven sections: Paris, Theatre, Dante, Liliana, Tartana, Self-Expression and Goya.
Starting with his arrival in Paris in 1887, the exhibition traces his professional and personal development that eventually led him to compose his most famous work Goyescas, a set of six piano suites based on the paintings of Francisco Goya. The exhibition displays original documents including scores, letters and photographs of the composer, and even some aromas to convey the personal connection between the composer and each of his sources of inspiration.
