Oceans, The Last Wild Territory, Exhibition, Museu Blau, Barcelona: 3 November 2017-14 September 2018

This is archived material. It is for reference purposes only.

Interactive exhibition about the sea, an off spin from the ground-breaking documentary project Oceans.

Thanks to new and innovative filming techniques, the Oceans documentary opened up a whole new understanding about the deep sea and had a huge scientific impact. The 480 hours of unedited footage from this project have been adapted into an interactive exhibition, featuring life-size replicas of marine creatures, information boards, and 14 big high-definition screens which present bitesize chunks of information and unseen footage from the documentary. A huge curved screen and a pair of 3D glasses recreate the feeling of complete immersion, and really bring the footage to life.

The exhibition is also highly relevant as it highlights the damage the that we are causing the ocean, and stresses the need to look after it. Awaken your emotions and your conscience as you re-discover the magical marine world.
