The market is nicknamed “the belly of Bordeaux” because of its long history of as a local market. The people of Bordeaux have been shopping here as far back as 1749.

Nowadays the indoor market is a lively locals’ paradise full of fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat, fish and all sorts of other foods. Oh, and wine of course.
