Dominican Monastery, Dubrovnik

Dating back to the 14th century, other parts of the Dominican Monastery were built in the following centuries explaining the mixture of Gothic and Renaissance architectural styles.

One of the main attractions is the elegant cloister, a peaceful courtyard surrounded by columns, often decorated with intricate carvings. Inside the monastery is the Church of Saint Dominic, known for its impressive architecture, artwork and religious significance. Valuable paintings and sculptures are often on display inside.

Inside the monastery itself, there is a rich collection of artworks, including paintings, religious artefacts and historical objects, some of which date back to the mediaeval period.

In addition, the monastery has an historical library which includes valuable manuscripts, documents and books that contribute to the cultural and intellectual heritage of the institution.
