The House of Marin Držić, Dubrovnik

The House of Marin Držić is a museum in Dubrovnik dedicated to the Croatian writer's life and work. 

Marin Držić, a renowned Croatian playwright and author from the Renaissance period was born here. Today, the house is a museum dedicated to Držić's life and work. The House is located adjacent to the Domino Church.

His plays, such as "Dundo Maroje" and "Skup," are celebrated for their satirical wit, social commentary, and exploration of human nature. Years from Držić’s biography (1508 – 1567) are marked at the staircase, there is a display of his family and genealogical tree and his conspiratorial letters, references to the author’s theater characters through costumes, and many more techniques through which, the author’s life and works are presented.
