Pile Gate which dates back to the 15th century is the main entrance to the walled city of Dubrovnik.
The gate is built of stone and includes a bridge over a moat, which originally had a drawbridge that could be lifted to protect the city.
Above the gate's arch, there is a statue of St. Blaise, Dubrovnik's patron saint, holding a model of the city.
