Stradun, also known as Placa, is the main street and a bustling thoroughfare that runs through the heart of Dubrovnik's Old Town dividing it into two halves and connecting.
It was originally a channel that divided the Ragusan peninsula but it was filled and paved in the 12th century.
The street is paved with polished limestone, which gives it a distinctive gleaming appearance and is lined with shops, boutiques, cafés, restaurants, and souvenir stalls, creating a lively atmosphere.
