Relax on the original velvet couches or even on the reclining beds whilst waiters serve you drinks. If you can't get hold of tickets for a movie, the nice lady on the door will allow you to take a quick look inside if nothing is showing.

During the First World War, the cinema was attacked by an angry mob who thought that its German-born manager was signalling to Zeppelin raiders from the roof, because a bomb was dropped from a Zeppelin on nearby Arundel Gardens.
