Ephesus Museum, Vienna: All Year

Up to the year 1906, numerous recovered objects of high quality were removed to Vienna, objects which can be seen today at the Ephesus Museum

The Ephesus Museum boasts a magnificent collection of sculptures and architectural works from the ancient city on the Aegean coast of Turkey, brought to Vienna from the excavations of the archaeological site of Ephesus.

Some of the jewels in the collection are the works of the Altar of Artemis, particularly the Amazon sculpture, in addition to the bronze athlete and the impressive 40 meter long frieze of the Parthian Monument that commemorates Marco Aurelio and Lucio Vero’s victories.

The collection is complemented by works found in the Greek island of Samothrace.
