Napoleon and archeology, Mercati Traianei, Rome: 1 October 2020-10 March 2021

Exhibition dedicated to the excavations promoted by Napoleon Bonaparte in Rome, intended as an imperial propaganda tool, which anticipates the anniversary of the bicentenary of Napoleon's death in 2021.

Linked to the bicentenary of Bonaparte's death (5 May 2021) and the latest archaeological investigations in the area of the Imperial Forums, the exhibition dedicated to Napoleon and his excavation activity in Rome reveals an aspect little known to the general public but important for the role in the policy of imperial propaganda, addressed to the model of the Rome of the Empire.
