The home of the German national parliament, the Reichstag Building offers panoramic views of the city from the rooftop dome designed by Sir Norman Foster. First built in 1894, the building fell into disuse after the Second World War. After German reunification in 1990, the building was refurbished and the new government moved back into the building. You can visit the mirrored dome and get the best views of the city from the top. You can listen to a plenary session, and see the graffiti left by Soviet soldiers, after the siege of the Reichstag in 1945. Book a table at the Kafer Dachgarten Restaurant to enjoy dinner and watch the sunset, and visit the permanent art collection. Relax on the carpet of grass in front of the building or walk the canal that snakes around it to get an idea of the building’s full scale.
