Deutsche Oper Berlin

Modern theatre, with capacity for 1,885, hosting a program of opera & ballet, plus a chic restaurant.

With almost 2,000 seats, this is Berlin’s largest opera house.

It was originally built in 1912 to contrast with Berlin’s State Opera but had to be rebuilt in 1961 after it was destroyed during the Second World War.

Stand outside and admire the minimalist brutalist architecture. Then go inside and perhaps get a chance to enjoy some 19th-century opera by the likes of composers like Wagner or Strauss.
