Aristotelous Square, Thessaloniki

Aristotelous Square, near the waterfront, is the main city square of Thessaloniki. Ernest Hébrard, a French architect, designed it in 1918 after the great fire of 1917 but most of it was built in the 50s.

This square is very lively and includes the  Olympion Theater cinema where the annual Thessaloniki International Film Festival is held as well as  numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.

This square is used for cultural events: Christmas celebrations and carnivals.
