Beers, burgers and music...Ninkasi has it all. We don’t usually recommend “chains” but you can usually find a Ninkasi, not far from you and it does just fine for either a drink or a casual dinner. Ninkasi Gerland (near the Confluence) hosts most of their live concerts at their 700 seat venue, but the branch at Guillotière is one of the most popular ones because it’s on the picturesque bank of the Rhône. They have an outdoor seating area where you can enjoy your meal overlooking the river on a sunny day. Otherwise if it’s too cold to sit outside, climb the spiral staircase and sit by the window for a cosy and warmer view.

On your visit, be sure to try one of their craft ales, as Ninkasi pride themselves on their locally brewed, award winning beers, (small glasses starting from just €1.80). For eating, the menu is your simple comfort food using ingredients from the local region: burgers, bagels, fries, salads, etc, all named after terrible but amusing music-food puns. (A few vegetarian options and one gluten free option is available.) If you’re looking for a satisfying weekend brunch then go for their menu that includes a bagel or two mini burgers, fried egg and bacon, a cold drink, a hot drink and a mini dessert plate, all for €17.90. (Available Saturdays and Sundays, 11.30-16.00). It’s good value for money considering most mains are around €10, and sides and desserts around €5.
