Built in 1740, Château de Bizy has seen a succession of owners who have wanted to bring their personal touch to the castle, by embellishing it or modifying it according to their tastes. It was thus the Dukes of Penthièvre or Belle-Isle, but also Louis-Philippe, the last King of France, who added their stone to the building.

The driveway will not fail to make you appreciate the perspective of the fountains, facing the stables, which create a striking effect. Inside the castle, there are sumptuous lounges, renowned for their woodwork, that will take you to another world. Next to their tapestries of the Goblins, from the series Royal Houses, objects dating from the First Empire are on display to your curiosity. One of the guides will be happy to show you the apartments, including the Grand Salon, the Petit Salon, the Terrace, the Antechamber and the Dining Room.

You can then stroll through the gardens of the castle, classified as a "Historic Monument". You can admire the baroque fountains and statues, but also stroll in the French garden. The goddess Venus will welcome you there, she who has guarded the top of the Avenue des Capucins for centuries, leading the Château de Bizy to the Seine. Finally, a small English-style park and a vegetable garden complete the visit of the gardens.

The castle also has a collection of six horse-drawn carriages dating from the 19th century. These were used by the owners of the castle until recently. Finally, do not hesitate to stop by the tea room, where you will be served drinks and sweets to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Opening hours

Every day from April 1 to November 1, 2018 from 10am to 6pm. Except on Mondays.

The Castle can only be visited on guided tours at 10:30, 11:15, 14:30, 15:30, 16:30 and 17:15.

The gardens can be visited freely from 10am to 6pm.

The domain is open every public holiday (including Mondays)
