Built between 1554 and 1561 by the Italian architect Andrea Palladio, this villa was commissioned by the Emo family of Venice to develop their estates in the village of Fanzolo. It remained in the family until 2004.
The land on which the villa was built, had already been in the family for two generations which gives an idea of how rich the family was. After the villa was built, the land continued to be used as a working farm as well as being a noble residence.
