Mueso nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo (the National Museum of 21st century arts was inaugurated in 2010 in the area Flaminio in Rome, and constitutes of former military barracks. The building took more than ten years to built and was designed by architect Zaha Hadid after she wan a competition regarding its design.  

The museum consists of two parts; MAXXI Art and MAXXI Architecture including the 20th century, 21st century and Photography Collections. With a great number of exhibitions, this is a place to return to where you'll always find something that will engange your creative mind. MAXXI has a way to create dialogues between art, architecture, photography, design, film, literature, high-tech and everything in between. The permanent Collection Collezione Maxxi. Lo Spazio Dell' Immagine displayed at the museum is now featuring 70 new acquisitions. 

As a part of the museums' interactive and including creative approach, they have Public Programmes as an integral part of MAXXI’s cultural offer. This includes events such as lectures of art, architecture, design and photography and meetings with the protagonists of the exhibitions. Activities in relation to their permanent Collection and book presentations are also a part of the innovative programme.
