The Trigoniou Tower of Thessaloniki stands as a magnificent historic landmark, offering panoramic views of the city.
Originally built in the 15th century during the Byzantine era (395- 1453) the Trigoniou Tower served as a defensive structure to protect the city against invasions. It was strategically positioned as part of the city walls, providing a vantage point to survey the surroundings and provide defence against the enemies.
The tower has undergone several transformations throughout its existence. Over time, it was modified and adapted to meet different needs.
The Trigoniou Tower is also known as "the balcony of Thessaloniki". The tower's elevated position provides an unrivaled vantage point giving you a view of the breathtaking landscape including the majestic sight, on a clear day of Mount Olympus, over 150 kilometers away.
