This visually captivating museum full of colours may be compact in size but brims with an impressive collection of unique artefacts. Musical sketches, clothing, photos, paintings, drums and personal belongings of both notable figures and devoted followers from the new wave movement have been cordially collected by the museum's creator and presented to the audience.

The Museum of the New Wave serves as a chronological portal, transporting you to a time when the conveniences of modern life were scarce. It was an era marked by reduced electricity and driving restrictions. However, during this period, music held profound meaning for everyone.

The New Wave genre encompasses a broad range of contemporary music styles, blending elements of punk rock, power pop, art rock, synth pop, funk, and reggae. Characterised by intense energy, rhythmic experimentation, and lyrics that can be shouted and sung, the New Wave movement mainly flourished along the Zagreb - Belgrade route from 1979 to 1984. Bands like Film, Haustor, Azra, Idoli, Šarlo akrobata, and Električni orgazam were active in Zagreb and Belgrade. It was a period of exceptional musical vitality, bringing the local rock scene closest to the sounds that captivated Western concert venues, charts, and radio and television programs.

This museum attracts music enthusiasts and musicians themselves, evident from unique pieces adorned with artists’ signatures. 

Outside, the museum extends its historical value with a recreation of a famous cafe that was the meeting place for the New Wave generation. Complete with a vintage Serbian car and cafe signboard, you can be captured in a photo, immersed in the spirit of that era. The museum also hosts events featuring unconventional workshops and provides a chance to explore symbolic drinks from the New Wave period.
