Traversing Appearances, Exhibition, Centre Pompidou, Paris: Until 22 April 2024

This is archived material. It is for reference purposes only.

Since the early 20th century, there has been a  dialogue between art and fashion. The journey through the Centre Pompidou’s collection again discusses  this synergy, showing  the relevance of this creative exchange.

Following the success of "Yves Saint Laurent in Museums" in 2022,  Laurence Benaïm orchestrates a chromatic and conceptual conversation, celebrating the body's motion and its connection with clothing and space.

From Christian Dior to Iris van Herpen, 17 designer profiles are juxtaposed with works from the Musée National d’Art Moderne’s collection. This exhibition traces correspondences between fashion and modern or contemporary artists, exploring elective affinities and shared obsessions.
