Museum of Casa Romei, Ferrara

Commissioned by the wealthy merchant Giovanni Romei in the 15th century, this exquisite residence was designed by the renowned architect Biagio Rossetti.

The  façade, adorned with delicate sculptures and a graceful loggia, reflects the wealth, taste and sophistication of its original owner.

The inside is adorned with frescoes, created by some of the leading artists of the time. The renowned Ferrarese painter Benvenuto Tisi, also known as Il Garofalo, contributed to the decoration of the house, with scenes of classical mythology, biblical narratives, and allegorical representations typical of the Renaissance.

The Renaissance garden has geometrically arranged flower beds, elegant sculptures, and a charming loggia.
