Church of San Marco, Rovereto

On 26th December 1769, the day after making his debut performance in Italy, the 13-year-old Mozart gave a second performance in the town of Rovereto at the Church of San Marco.

This was the first time Mozart had played to the general public, as the Roveretini came en masse to enjoy the organ performance of the child prodigy. If you visit Rovereto today, the Venetian-style Baroque church is well worth a visit, for its colourful Baroque façade, gilded stuccos, 18th-century marble altars, and the original 16th-century Rococo organ at the back of the church which Mozart played during his visit.
