San Martin's Bridge, Toledo

Wander along this pedestrian bridge to get a great view of Toledo and the River Tagus, the longest river in the Iberian Peninsula.

Less than a 20-minute walk from the main square is this impressive medieval bridge built in 1380 to link Toledo to the west. It has five arches and is bookended by two defensive towers built separately in the 13th and 16th-centuries. Look out for the stone figure in the central part of the bridge believed to depict either the architect’s wife or the archbishop who commissioned the bridge.
