On the eastern edge of the city, Calderglen Country Park is Glasgow’s main greenspace and recreation area, stretching along a scenic wooded glen.
You’ll find the visitor centre in the 17th-century Torrance House (a Category A-listed building), and just next door there’s the café, exhibition gallery and kids’ play area. Take a stroll through the tropical glasshouse, ornamental gardens, and children’s zoo, or explore some of the eight miles of nature trails along the banks of the River Calder that runs through the park.
