National War Museum, Edinburgh

In the grounds of Edinburgh Castle, this 18th-century ordnance storehouse was converted into the National War Museum in 1933. It covers today the history of Scotland at war from the 17th-century right up to the present day.

Marvel at this huge collection of items used by Scottish armed forces over the centuries, in a building used as an actual military hospital in the early 20th-century. If you’re visiting the castle, entry to the museum is included in the price of your ticket.
