Moseley Old Hall, Wolverhampton

Moseley Old Hall is an atmospheric Elizabethan farmhouse which once hid King Charles II from Cromwell’s troops after he fled the Battle of Worcester in 1651.

 The house contains the bed the King slept in, the priest hole he hid in and many stories about life in the 17th-century, which are given by tour guides and costume interpreters. In the gardens, there is a variety of 17th-century plants, a fruit orchard and a ‘knot’ garden, as well as a walk into Kings Walk Wood where there is a tree-hide for children of all ages to explore. There is also a tearoom on site, as well as events, activities and demonstrations.
