Museum of Transport, Greater Manchester

A display of buses, coaches, trams and historic objects within a 1930s bus garage.

Considered the custodian of Greater Manchester’s public road transport heritage, the museum has an extensive collection of everything related to transport, from the vehicles themselves, to film and video, maps, posters, signs, tickets, uniforms, timetables and brochures, amongst many other artefacts. Many of their vehicles have been restored by volunteers to roadworthy condition, and throughout the year the museum hosts events giving you  the opportunity to travel on some of their historic vehicles. There is also a period tea room and a shop which sells books, models, collectables and DVDs.
