Newark Air Museum, Newark

The museum’s collection, started in 1963, has gradually expanded to create an eclectic display of the country’s aviation history and heritage.

Their archive is made up of books, photographs, Air Publications, magazines, uniforms, correspondence, memorabilia, ephemeral objects in addition to a range of aviation and avionic artefacts. A significant part of their collection is over 40 aircraft engines, power units and rocket motors, dating from the 1920s up until modern jet engines, one particularly notable item is the Olympus engine, which powered the Vulcan and Concorde. As well as their aviation displays, the museum also has a Memorial Garden and a Victory Garden which includes an Anderson Shelter.
