Italian Painting from the 14th to 18th Century, Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, Madrid: 26 October 2021-9 January 2022

This is archived material. It is for reference purposes only.

This exhibition comprises 12  paintings from artists such as Taddeo Gaddi, Fra Angelico, Giambattista Piazzetta and Giacomo Ceruti, to commemorate the birth of Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza.

In 1993, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza deposited a significant number  of its German and Italian paintings in the Monastery of Pedralbes in Barcelona. The paintings were  later moved to the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya where they  still remain today. In October 2020, a selection of these paintings came to the Museum in Madrid for the celebrations of the Baron’s birth.
