This exciting new exhibition presents the work of pioneering artist Joan Brossa (1919-1998) through his books, visual investigations and also his work in theatre, cinema, music and artistic creations.
Whilst Brossa was namely a poet, he frequently collaborated with other artists, musicians, filmmakers, dancers, comedians and even magicians. His work frequently stood out as unique, despite working in the challenging socio-political context of Franco’s dictatorship, a time of oppression for artists.
His work focuses on aesthetic renewal, and is based on literary and artistic research. The project at MACBA, on display until 25th February next year, highlights his great influence and relationship with other artists' practices.
