Dolbadarn Castle, Caernarfon

Dolbadarn Castle was built by Llywelyn the Great during the early 13th-century.

The castle was important both militarily and as a symbol of Llywelyn's power and authority. It was taken by Edward I in 1284 and the castle became a manor house before falling into ruin.

It is now managed by Cadw.
