Kidwelly Castle, Kidwelly

Kidwelly is a Norman castle. Its name originally was spelt Cygweli, which means "swan" in Welsh. The present remains of the castle include work from around 1114 to 1476. Created as a defence against the Welsh, the castle fell to the Welsh several times in the 12th-century.

It is relatively well preserved and is managed by Cadw.
